“How about Betty?” Sam watched as Dean’s nose crinkled with distaste. “Or Sue?”

“No. That’s definitely not it. Keep going. I’ll know it when I hear it.”

Sam rolled his eyes but continued, “Okay, Betsy, Joanne, Bobbi Jo...” He paused as Dean shook his head. “What’s wrong with those names?’

“Not Jo.”

For a brief moment, Sam was stumped before it dawned on him. Jo was the one that got away. The woman he could have had... If only their lives had been different.

Suddenly, Sam smiled as a name finally came to him. “What about Sally?” He had barely got the words out before his brother shook his head once more. “I give up. Why do you want to name it anyway? It’s just a car.”

Dean quickly rubbed the impala. “He didn’t mean it, baby. He was just being an a...” A look of dawning crossed his face. “That’s it. I’ll call her Baby.”

“Seriously, Dude?”

“Wasn’t that Patrick Swayze’s love interest in ‘Dirty Dancing’?”

Dean glared at his younger brother. “What’s your point?”

Sam bit his lip to keep from laughing. “Not a thing. I just never knew you were a fan of that particular movie.”

“Hey, I’m not. It’s not my fault I can remember a good name.”

“Uh huh.” Sam muttered quietly to himself.

As Dean opened the car door and slid behind the wheel, a secret smile spread across his face as he slipped the key into the ignition. He was so glad that his baby brother would never know he had been such a fan that he had practiced until he could do every dance move that Swayze had done in the movie.

As Baby purred to life, his smile widened. There were some things his brother just didn’t need to know.
