Summary: Dean brings Benny back from Purgatory, and Dean seems different to him. I've tweaked it slightly so it's sunny!

Dean hugged Benny tight, grinning at seeing him again and because his life was so damned weird.
As they parted, Benny looked at him intently, making Dean uncomfortable.
“Whatcha looking at me like that for?”
“You look…different.”
“Well, I’m cleaner for starters.”
“Hmm.” Benny leaned in and actually sniffed him.
“Dude!” Dean protested, “What the hell?”
“You smell different.”
“Yeah, there's no monster blood or Levi goo.”
“But it’s not that.” Benny smiled, “I’ve never seen you in sunshine before, cher.”
“You like?” Dean teased.
“Hell, yeah, you’re more beautiful.” Benny murmured, kissing Dean.
Life was weird, but kinda wonderful.

Dean's grateful to his friends in Purgatory - and not just for their company.

It was useful having an angel and a dead, undead – whatever - guy following you around in Purgatory.

Because – and really, who'd have thought that Purgatory had seasons - when it got freezing cold, like, nose-numbingly, junk-shrivellingly cold, having two friends who didn’t feel it was kinda handy.

Wrapped up in his own jacket, together with Benny’s coat and Castiel’s ubiquitous trench stretched almost to bursting over the top of both, the bone-jarring chill was just about manageable.

Of course, Dean’s ears were burning crimson in the freezing air, but Benny’s cap?

Nah – even in Purgatory, Dean had his pride.
