TITLE: Waiting Up

"Why don't you take a load off and relax?" Aaron had suggested as he left for a much needed bar break from the Georgia humidity and his hulking, judgemental roommate.

He returned to find the clay man wedged into one of their room's chairs, facing the door.

"You didn't have to wait up!" he joked, knowing the Golem never slept. "It's like a sauna in here! Why didn't you turn on the air conditioner?"

Upon closer inspection, that chair was a tight fit, and did clay expand in high humidity? The golem glowered and Aaron apologetically switched on the air.

DEW: High Maintenance

Aaron didn’t like taking his Golem out when it was very cold.

The problem was that, being made of clay, he was inclined to go all brittle.  When that happened, extraneous parts were liable to crack, and occasionally drop off.

So far, it had only happened to a couple of fingertips and the tip of his nose, oh yeah and one ear – but that wasn’t a problem because the great lunk never listened to Aaron anyway.

So Aaron didn’t like taking his Golem out in the cold - because sticking noses and fingers back on was one thing, but …

Summary: Aaron sneaks out alone as Golem's been cramping his style.

Aaron settled at the bar, congratulating himself on slipping away unnoticed. It was one thing having a mission, but a guy needs to kick back occasionally and, let's face it, Golem was hardly ideal wingman material.

He'd barely sipped his cold beer before he'd caught the eye of a beautiful woman. He was still trying to muster the courage to approach her, when she beat him to it.

"I've seen you here before," she said. Aaron grinned. Was this a sure thing?

"What time's your bodyguard get off?" she asked, pointing to Golem lurking in the shadows. "He's so hot!"
